Lincoln Varsity Soccer Win Pushes Them Over .500

(3-2-1) Lady Zebras roll over (1-4-1) Center 4-0 as Kara Burns pulls through with the 3 goal hat-trick holding Lincoln in 3rd place in Pioneer Valley League with a tough match up on Thursday night against 4th place (3-3) Foothill.

Although the Cougars would catch the Lady Zebras offside multiple times in the first half, Kara Burns would start off Lincoln 5 minutes in to the game to put the Lady Zebras up 1-0. Katie Camerer followed with a goal at the 9:52 left mark. Kara Burns would then put the Lady Zebras up 3-0 at the 3:43 mark in the first half.

As the second half began, Center began to put pressure on Lincoln, but the defense was too strong for the Cougars and they would not be able to get on the board.

The hat-trick by Kara Burns would be complete at 10:07 left in the second half to finish off the scoring on the night. Coach David Zinzun proud of his team is looking to keep them healthy while staying competitive. "We really have struggled with our health, but these girls have battled all season and it has really paid off this season."

Lincoln celebrates their Seniors on Friday night before they face off against Foothill which will be one of the biggest games of the year for the two squads. Foothill comes in with Pioneer Valley League Scoring leader Julie Herrera with 17 goals on the year and their sights on taking third place away from the Lady Zebras. Game starts at 7 pm at Lincoln High School.
