Zebras Outside Shot Too Much For Christian Brothers

Zack Detillion and Zack Lowe start out on fire from beyond the three point line which turned into a massive 1st QTR lead of 31-12 to open the Sac Joaquin Section Division 3 playoffs. The Manteca Falcon's mustered their closest deficit of 49-37 at the end of the 3rd before they ran out of gas and ended up losing to Lincoln 65-41.

The game was physical and emotional as multiple technical fouls were called in the contest. A strong presence of PJ Manley, Willie Watanabe and Brandon Lessard in the inside helped the Zebras against the much taller Christian Brothers. The Christian Brothers game was to pound the ball inside, but the excellent game plan by Coach Robert Ash frustrated the Falcons.

#6 Lincoln travels to #3 seed Manteca Friday night at 7 pm, who won their first round Sac Joaquin Section Division 3 playoff matchup against #14 seed El Capitan of Merced 70-53.

Lincoln and Manteca matched up in the first round of last year's section playoff with Manteca just edging out Lincoln 51-48. Manteca has a tall task for the Zebras in 6'9" senior Anand Hundel the leading scorer and shot blocker at 13.7 points per game and 5.5 blocks. Also equally as dangerous is 6' 8" sophomore Tydus Vanhoeven with a 2.4 blocks per game average and 9.0 points per game. The Zebras will need to stay hot from the outside to pull Manteca out of their comfort zone and stay out stay away from the extreme height of the Manteca Buffaloes.

Manteca can also shoot from the outside with 5'11" senior Marcus Montano and 5'8" junior Frankie Lopez both shooting around 40% from beyond the arc and attempting over 100 3 point shots over the season.
