Neeve Chen of Woodcreek wins Sac Joaquin Section A. Dale Lacky Scholarship

The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section proudly announces $30,500 in scholarships will be awarded to the 49 winners of the A. Dale Lacky/CSEA Scholarships for outstanding athletic performance, community service and academic success during their four years of high school.

The award, named after former Section and State CIF President A. Dale Lacky, recognizes the top male and female student-athletes within the Section. The scholarship committee has selected four male and four female students as the recipients of a $1,000 scholarship. The remaining nominees are award a $500 scholarship from the Section.

Al the winners will be recognized at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Breakfast Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi. The program will start at 9 a.m.

$1,000 winners

Neeve Chen (Woodcreek) - Neeve played golf and competed for the swimming team for four years each. In golf, she was the team MVP and first-team all-league all four years and she was the team captain for two years. She won the U.S> Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award in nine different subjects. She won a Coca-Cola America's Future award. She volunteers with the junior golf academy at Diamond Oaks, First Tee of Sacramento and at the Placer Food Bank. Neeve has a 4.5 GPA, which is No. 1 in her class of 502. She will attend either Claremont McKenna or Washington University in St. Louis, where she plans on playing golf while majoring with biomedical or environmental engineering with a minor in economics.
